Can the 76ers win a championship?

The 76ers were a couple of bounces away from making the Eastern Conference finals last year. This team looked like a legit title contender and most people thought they would be in title contention for many years to come. This year has not followed that pattern. Right now they sit as the 5 seed in the eastern conference. This doesn’t tell the full story though. They have the best home record in all of the NBA. They have only lost two games at home all year. But when it comes to the road they are one of the worst teams in the NBA. This is one of the most confusing things in the NBA. There is no clear fix to this but I have an idea of how to fix this. Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons cannot play with each other. They are two very talented players but their styles don’t work well together. Ben Simmons can not shoot so he always ends up crowding the paint with Embiid there also. I think one of these players has to go. This is where the decision becomes very tough. There are ways to build around both of these players but ultimately there is only one right choice. Ben Simmons needs to be traded. Joel Embiid is one of the best centers in the league if not the best center. Ben Simmons is very talented but in the modern NBA, you need to be able to shoot. Especially at the point guard position. I understand that centers are becoming less and less valuable but Embiid is different. He is one of the few centers you can build a team around. There are a couple of players the 76ers should look at. Devin Booker is unhappy in Phoenix or Bradley Beal is unhappy in DC. I think both of these guys would be great fits for the 76ers. I think this team should take the L and just finish this season out right now. I think this offseason will lead to a dramatic change. Al Horford I think will be sent away and I also think Ben Simmons will too. I think giving this team a big three of Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, and an elite scoring guard will make this team a new threat in the east. The NBA is constantly changing every offseason and with the East getting better each year the 76ers have to change and make sure they put themselves in the best position to win each year.
